RESIDENTS of a local village have been thanked for bringing a sense of community spirit to a well-attended flower show.
North Newton Flower Show was held at the Church of St Peter on Sunday, July 31.
It was the village's first flower show since 2019 because of Covid.
The successful flower show was coordinated by an organising committee and featured several competition categories.
Attendees could also look at classic cars, take part in archery sessions, and watch or enter their pets into a dog show.
Sue Stone, who helped organise the flower show, said: “It was absolutely brilliant. It was so well supported.
“There was such a lovely community feel. We were thrilled to bits with the support of the village.”
Speaking about the show's Covid-enforced hiatus, she added: “It was lovely to see the church full of people.
“We're very pleased with the overall result. We had people who have not been involved before support us.
“I'd like to thank those who helped organise it and those who came. I can't thank people enough for their support on behalf of St Peter's and St Michael's Church.”
North Newton is located near North Petherton to the south of Bridgwater.
