BRIDGWATER Flower and Craft Show is back after a four-year gap.

The popular event, last staged in 2018, is being held at Westfield Church Hall, in West Street, on Saturday, August 27,

Set up is taking place the previous evening.

Organiser Sara Evans is heading up an almost entirely new committee.

She said: "We’re working very hard to bring back one of Bridgwater’s much loved traditions, so look out for lots of old favourites plus some new challenges to enjoy.”

The show was previously known as Bridgwater Flower Show but added the word 'craft' to reflect changes that happened over the years.

More than 60 trophies will be up for grabs. For full details visit www.bfcshow.org.uk.

Cllr Kathy Pearce, Bridgwater Town climate portfolio holder, said: "I am delighted that the Bridgwater Flower and Craft Show is returning.

"The Committee has worked extremely hard to bring the show back.

"This is a shout out to all growers and crafters out there to support the show by having a go.

"It’s great fun and it’s always a joy to see the range of talent that exists in the town.”

She added: "The show will also be the grand finale of the town council’s ‘Green Week’, which will be launched on Sunday, August 21, with a Blue Heritage event led by Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and Friends of the Meads.

"Throughout the week, there will be a range of events designed to raise awareness of our local environment and how we can all make a difference to tackle the climate emergency.“
