ON Saturday, June 25 Ella Phillips was at the Somerset Brick and Tile Museum in Bridgwater to deliver the first of her ‘have a go’ pot throwing sessions.

People who joined the event had the opportunity to experience over 10 minutes of individual tuition and could take home the pot they created.

Ella will be back at the museum on July 26 and August 23.

As explained on its Facebook page, The Brick & Tile Museum is dedicated to the local industry of brick and tile making, one of the many labour-intensive coal-based industries once found in Somerset.

The core of the museum is the only remaining tile kiln in Bridgwater.

It used to be one of six at the former Barham Brothers’ Yard at East Quay.

It was last fired in 1965, the year that the works closed.

For more information, visit the museum's website here.

Here is a selection of photos from the event.
