A GROUP of talented local entertainment acts fought off tough competition during auditions to secure a front of curtain slot at the 2022 carnival concerts.

The auditions, which were sponsored by Anderson & Wall, took place at Bridgwater Town Hall, and the following acts were selected to perform at this year’s concerts:

  • Emily Miller,
  • Florence Curtis,
  • Fox King Dance Academy,
  • Anthony Lawson Blake,
  • Amanda Nolan,
  • Sammy & Evie,
  • The Vixens,
  • Kizzy Maguire,
  • James Alexander,
  • Christie Buttle,
  • Viva La Diva,
  • Simon Newton,
  • Catrin Hudson,
  • Emily Palmer, (reserve)
  • Anne Middleton,
  • Bridgwater Guy Fawkes.

Carnival committee’s secretary, and concerts coordinator, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank every act for taking the time to apply and auditioning for our concerts, and our sponsors Anderson and Wall for their continuing support and generosity.

“The standard of the acts was the highest ever, and the judges had a very difficult task in choosing which ones should go forward to the 12-night show later this year. For those acts that didn’t make it through, we would love to see them back auditioning for next year’s concerts.”

Following a Pandemic-related two-year pause, the prestigious carnival concerts return to the Bridgwater Town Hall stage between Monday, October 3, and Saturday, October 15.

Tickets for the 2022 show are available from the event’s official website and from the Carnival Centre, High Street.
Ticket prices range between £11.50 and £16.
