CLARKS Village has invested £1.7m over the last two years to enhance the premium shopping outlet in Somerset and improve guest experience.

The investment has been designed to propel guest experience at the Landsec-owned Clarks Village outlet, in Street, to keep guests coming back following the pandemic.

As an outdoor shopping outlet, Clarks Village has focused the investment on increasing and improving its outside spaces which includes the redevelopment of its Central Square Gardens with landscaping, a terrace, pathways, and additional seating amidst flowers, greenery, and established trees.

New branding, signage, and wayfinding have been introduced as well as a major refurbishment to the outlet’s toilet facilities, a refresh to six store fronts, roofing upgrades, and additional investment in the outlet’s back of house areas for its brands.

Four free-to-use electric vehicle charging bays have also been installed alongside the existing 1,000 parking spaces.

In addition, Clarks Village has invested in its staff with increased resource, training, and a renewed focus on guest experience including upskilling the team in mental health, first aid, autism, dementia, and communication.

Located in Street less than 25 minutes from the M5 and A303, Clarks Village boasts a stellar line-up of more than 90 designer brands and high-street names offering discounts of up to 60 per cent off RRP.

Its store list includes Levis, Vans, Hotel Chocolat, M&S, Next, Le Creuset, Haribo and Barbour.

The newest arrivals at Clarks Village include organic childrenswear brand Frugi, hot drinks specialist Whittard of Chelsea, outdoor clothing and equipment retailer Craghoppers, and independent Summerhouse Aromatherapy alongside newly refurbished stores from Mountain Warehouse and The Perfume Shop.

While at Clarks Village, visitors can also enjoy a host of late-night dining options, a range of cafes and grab-and-go outlets as well as a large adventure play park for families.

Chris Davis, centre director of Clarks Village, commented: “Clarks Village was the very first outlet to open in the UK and so it’s important for us to continually innovate to bring guests what they need; a mix of exciting brands with exclusive discounts in a setting they enjoy spending time in.

“With guest experience at the forefront of everything we do, the pandemic gave us an opportunity to take stock and to engage with our guests and brand partners about what they love about Clarks Village and what they’re looking for in the future.

“In response, we’ve evolved and invested significantly in enhancing Clarks Village into a shopping destination that continues to meet the changing needs of our guests and give them an experience that can’t be replicated online so they keep coming back time and time again.

“The enhancements have already been well received by guests and we’re confident this will enable us to continue to stand out as a top visitor destination.”

Future plans for Clarks Village include new brands set to arrive this summer alongside further enhancements as well as a line-up of events for all the family to enjoy.
