Crafty Collective handed Christmas Window Cup by town mayor

Sue Rawle and Sarah Young of The Crafty Collective were handed the coveted Christmas Window Cup by councillor Leigh Redman, the mayor of Bridgwater, on Tuesday, March 1.

The mayor judged the competition in December and announced The Crafty Collective as the winners two days before Christmas. 

The collective's display included a Christmas tree, stars, lights, a dusting of snow on the floor, and other festive decorations.

The Crafty Collective is well-known in the town for its window displays, which it creates for events including Christmas, Remembrance Sunday, and Mother's Day and Father's Day.

I had the pleasure of judging the best Independent trader Window at Christmas, the 2021 winner is :- Crafty Collective gift shop.

Cllr Redman said: "After a couple false starts, due to me catching Covid, I was really pleased to say thank you to the team at The Crafty Collective in Angel place.

"They were the winners of the Christmas Window competition, run by the town council to help support independent traders.

"Their window display stood out.

"The Crafty Collective try and keep all their window displays current - I hear they are considering a blue and yellow themed Mothering Sunday window to show support for all the residents of Ukraine who are suffering."

He added: "Bridgwater is very much open for business and I hope that everyone gets out to support our local traders."

The Crafty Collective is a group of Somerset-based local businesses seeking to bring a unique range of products to Bridgwater.
