ENMORE Park Golf Club hosted a get together to thank all members who volunteered to take on additional duties over to enable the club to continue to provide as normal a service as possible during the Covid pandemic.

Unfortunately not everyone was able to be present but the evening was most successful and enjoyed by all who attended.

Martyn Clapp the Chairman said: “The last couple of years coping with the global pandemic, meant we have had to deal with a whole new challenge in managing the day to day business. Staff shortages have been a huge burden on the remaining staff, but the response to the call to arms from the Directors to members to step up and fill the voids has been nothing short of remarkable.

“The volunteers have gone that extra mile, raking bunkers, serving behind the bar, waiting on tables, helping out on small improvement projects, laying a patio of 560 slabs, erecting a marquee, assisting in the office, the list is endless and all for the love and desire to see Enmore succeed, each and every volunteer has been fantastic.”

He added: “As a small token of thanks, the board of directors wished to celebrate the achievements by hosting a gathering of the volunteers at the club. Well done to all those members, long may the feel good factor continue and hopefully grow in the coming years.

Ruth McLennan. Who was one of the volunteers said: “EPGC is run by members for members. I regard so many members at the Club as my friends and so who wouldn’t help a ‘friend’ in need when asked?

“I was happy to undertake the Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate to help at the time. Although, truth be told, as a lover of the great outdoors, I am much happier volunteering to rake the bunkers!”

Sally Dymock another volunteer said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my two jobs – helping in the office and behind the bar. It was fun learning the different ways to pull Guinness versus beer versus cider – quite an art!”
