A PERSON was trapped inside a vehicle after two-vehicle crash this afternoon (February 6).
Fire engines from Street and Glastonbury attended the incident in Meare, near Glastonbury.
A heavy rescue unit and supporting officer from Glastonbury also attended the crash, which happened around 1pm.
"Fire control received a call from the ambulance service reporting a road traffic collision (RTC) with one person still within a vehicle," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
"Once in attendance crews confirmed a two vehicle RTC with one person still trapped within on of the vehicles.
"Crews successfully managed to extricate the casualty using stabilisation equipment, small tools and three sets of hydraulic rescue equipment.
"The casualty was left in the hands of the ambulance service.
"The scene was left in the hands of police."
