FIRE crews tackled a chimney fire near Bridgwater yesterday afternoon (November 26).

One fire engine from Bridgwater attended the incident in Stogursey around 2pm.

The fire was believed to have been accidental.

"Once in attendance crews confirmed a fire at the hearth of the chimney behind a wood burning stove, crews got to work using chimney equipment chimney rods and a thermal imaging camera," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.

"Crews confirmed the fire was extinguished using chimney equipment."
