WALK-in coronavirus vaccination clinics will be held at Bridgwater Rugby Club today and tomorrow (Saturday, November 27).

Today's pop-up clinic at the rugby club will be offering first doses to 12- to 15-year-olds, and tomorrow's will be for all eligible groups.

Bridgwater Rugby Club's ground is on Bath Road (TA6 4TZ).

Other pop-up clinics will be held in Taunton, Minehead and Street on Saturday and Sunday (November 27 and 28).

Across the UK, over 50 million people have received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccination and over 46 million have had their second dose.

According to the Government's coronavirus dashboard, more than 16 million people have received their booster jab.

Professor Trudi Grant, director of public health for Somerset County Council, said: "The vaccination remains the best form of defence that we have against Covid, and I would urge anyone who is yet to receive their first dose, second dose or booster to step forward when invited.

"There will be extra clinics held across Somerset this weekend to give local people the best opportunity to get their vaccinations, and I would encourage anyone who has not already done so to book their jab and help play their part to stop the spread of the virus."
