ON WEDNESDAY last week, the Ladies Section at Enmore Park Golf Club took part in a 9 Hole fun team competition that was entered by 51 players.

At the end of which there was a tie at the top of the leader board with two teams returning with 42.

After count back however it was Diane Dee who plays off a handicap of 15, Christine Lewis (11) and Anne Marie Twort (31) who just edged into first place ahead of Janet Waplington (13) Carol Robinson (15) and Linda Anniss (12).

Third place was claimed by Betty Edney (16), Anne Elliott-Rose (17) and Marilyn Turrell 15) with 41.

Following the golf the Ladies held an Autumn Fayre at the club. There were lots of stalls selling produce, handmade soaps, cards, painting, jewellery, hand made gifts and golf clothes. In addition to which there was a raffle, tombola stall and ‘Guess the name of the monkey’ draw. 

The event raised over £700 for Julie Blumgart, the Lady Captain’s charity - Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support SARSAS.

Elsewhere, on Saturday the was a Gents Turkey Trot pairs competition which attracted 88 entrants at the end of which there was a three way tie

Following count back however it was Robert Stafford (9) and Jonathan Stafford( 11) who claimed first place closely followed by Dan Andison (4) and Ben Kingston (9) while third place went to Robert Wright (5) and Jack Wright (7).

During the competition there were 12 twos recorded a brace of which were claimed by Tim Woodley.
