THE FOOTBALL is coming thick and fast at Fairfax Park and this weekend is another back to back weekend of top quality football as Bridgwater United’s Festival of Football happens once more.

Off the back of a strong performance against league leaders Tavistock, and in front of a 567 strong crowd, United’s men's team kick things off with a local derby.

Street will be the visitors on Saturday and Dave Pearse’s men will definitely be looking to avenge their previous performance against Street with his side playing free scoring, free flowing football since then.

On Sunday it’s another top of the table clash for the women’s team as Southampton FC come to town for the first time at 2pm.

The team piled the pressure on but were mightily unlucky not to have taken something home from their long journey to Ipswich last weekend when a draw would have been the fairest result.

Fairfax Park has seen a raft of renovations over the last week to improve the match day experience for the fans in attendance.

The Robins Clubhouse has finished it’s face lift to a resounding reception on Friday past whilst the club have fully renovated the club shop and is stocked with everything from replica shirts to car stickers.

Both matches will, as always, be family orientated events with Bridgwater United Community Sports Trust laying on their excellent entertainment for children and young people of all ages with their Kid Zone, Fast & Furious football arena and of course Thunder The Mascot.
