CARS will now be allowed to park on Berrow beach after council decided to deny access during the autumn and winter.
And a new car parking area is set to be built off the coast road at Berrow.
Sedgemoor District Council (SDC) has spoken to Berrow residents, and Discover Brean and come up with a solution to allow vehicles to access the beach.
The beach warden will now be on duty on various days to allow visitors to park.
The decision comes after almost 900 residents signed a petition protesting SDC's decision to close the beach over the winter.
Rita Morgan set up the petition to complain that locals were being inconvenienced by the move and called for a re-think.

There will be no charge to park when the beach warden is on duty.
They will be on duty during October half term (October 23 until October 31) between 9am and 3pm.
From November 1, the beach will be open for vehicle access on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays between 10am and 3pm, taking into account tidal conditions.
During these times, the beach warden will be on hand to help with safety issues and offer any advice.
When there is no one on duty (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays), the access gates will remain closed.
However, there is parking in the nearby Berrow Dunes Nature reserve car park, with pedestrian access.
There are disabled access points at nearby Burnham-on-Sea beach for those who are unable to use the pedestrian access to Berrow Beach.
A spokesperson for SDC said: "We are very grateful for the offer from Discover Brean and look forward to working alongside them to help support the beach team.
"We understand that residents and local users of the beach may be aware of the dangers that the beach can pose, but if the gates are open and unsupervised, that does allow for access for people who may not be aware of the potential dangers of the tides and beach.
"That is why we will be using the regular beach safety staff to supervise the opening hours."
Work on the new car park on the coast road is set to start on Monday, November 15 and will take two weeks.
The vehicle and pedestrian access will be closed for those two weeks to allow heavy plant and machinery to work uninterrupted to create the 30 permanent parking spaces, which are not on the beach.
Once installed, these car parking spaces will be free until Easter 2022.
