POLICE are set to be handed CCTV from a Bridgwater car park after a DRAIN COVER was stolen.
A Sedgemoor District Council spokesperson said it was 'disappointed' to discover the theft of a cast iron drain cover from the Dampiet Street Car Park in the town centre.
The cover, measuring around 500mm x 300mm, disappeared some time overnight on Sunday, October 10.
The spokesperson said it was a 'shocking and incredibly dangerous act of vandalism'.
“Clearly it is of a concern because it has created a dangerous trip hazard which could lead to serious hurt or injury,” they said.
A temporary cover is in place until a replacement has been sourced.
Sedgemoor District Council car parks are well covered by CCTV and any footage of the perpetrators will be passed to the police, the spokesperson added.
