BRIDGWATER United Football Club has welcomed Amy Goddard as the newest member of their commercial team.

Goddard currently is the stalwart defender for the women's team and will now also work as the commercial executive at the club.

She will be responsible for creating new partnerships and looking after existing partnerships at Bridgwater United.

"It's a really exciting time to be part of the club, we have been working hard to connect our men's and women's communities with our Trust together," Goddard said.

"We are looking for new and innovative ways to support the club but then also have the club as a central part of the community of Bridgwater."

As a player Amy began at Hampshire and Dorset Centres of excellence but moved to Bristol City at 16 to go to college and play full time there.

She then had the opportunity to turn professional at Yeovil Town in the Women's Super League before unfortunately having to move on due to the situation the club found themselves in.

She then signed for Crystal Palace and played for the London club for two seasons before returning to Bridgwater in the summer of 2021.

"I've loved every minute at Bridgwater as its the first club I've been at that has truly put its women's and girls pathway at its core rather than just pay lipservice or have it as a bolt on to everything else," Goddard said.

Currently both the men and women's teams are enjoying a good run of form in their respective leagues and attendances are on the up.

The men and women must be playing some of the best football in their respective leagues and we would love to keep the attendances rising.

Amy said there is currently a lot of opportunities to support the club, including player sponsorship.

"There are loads of ways to support the club right now from player sponsorship to matchday and match ball sponsorship."

"We would love to hear from interested companies or individuals who want to support their local club."
