AN event in Bridgwater will celebrate the town's history of petitioning against the slave trade.
October 18 is National Anti Slavery Day and the event, at St Mary's Church, will mark the occasion, as well as highlighting the efforts in Bridgwater to tackle the horrific trade.
Bridgwater was the first town to petition against the slave trade, in 1785.
Art produced around the subject of Banishing Slavery will be on show at the church.
