YOUNG people at a Bridgwater primary school have spoken out for sea life, with a new piece of art in the grounds.

Each year, Eastover Primary School partners with local arts education charity, SPAEDA, to make something special for the school grounds.

This year's Art Week at the school was on the theme of ocean plastic and the whole school was involved in creating art, as well as taking part in a three-day workshop with one of SPAEDA’s lead artists, Fiona Campbell.

Alongside Fiona’s sculptural art practice, she works within the community, holding art residencies and running workshops.

Fiona worked with groups of children during the art week to produce a wall mounted relief celebrating ocean life.

The children recycled everyday materials and learnt about keeping plastic out of drains and rivers so that they don’t reach the ocean.
