VISITORS to the Wings and Wheels event at Westonzoyland Aerodrome had a peep back to a golden age at the weekend.

Almost 40 aeroplanes were on show, along with around 80 classic cars and 100 motorbikes at the two-day event.

Organiser Simon Chards, one of three directors of the site, said: "Saturday was a bit of a washout, but Sunday was perfect.

"It was our first Wings and Wheels event, but it's going to be an annual event.

"Everybody said they want to come back next year.

"The barbeque was so popular that the Westonzoyland butcher Eugene had to go back to pick up more meat, which was great after all the difficulties of the pandemic."

The event raised funds for the aerodrome and will help facilitate plans to make next year "bigger and better".
