AFTER last season was declared null and void with the Girls sitting top of the U12s league, Wembdon Football Club’s U13 Girls carried on their great form into this season and have been crowned Somerset Girls U13s League champions.

And the team did it in style, finishing the 10-game season unbeaten.

Coaches Steve Hellard and Chris Jarvis said: “The girls fully deserved to finish top of the league.

"They were top of the U12s league last season before the league was declared null and void due to the Covid pandemic and so this is just reward for their efforts over two seasons.

"We are hugely grateful to the Somerset Girls League for their efforts in getting the season finished and are looking forward to the new season starting in September.

"We are always open to more girls with experience of playing football joining us and anyone interested should contact football@wembdonjfc.co.uk for more details.”
