VISITORS headed to Street on Sunday (July 11) to enjoy a ‘little’ eat:Festivals event.

The eat:Festivals, which were founded by Bev and Sarah Milner Simonds in 2012, are held in various towns around Somerset.

And now they have appeared in Mendip, but with a smaller version of the event.

Laura Wolfers, chair of Street Parish Council, said it was a ‘well organised’ and ‘popular’ event.

“It was a busy Sunday on Street High Street,” she said.

“I enjoyed meeting all the friendly stall holders, some of whom had not been to Street before.

“There was lots of delicious foods to eat and take home, cakes, chocolates and some local brews too.”

Sarah, Head of Sparkle and eat:Festivals, said they are ‘proud’ to be part of the reopening plans for Mendip.

“We had a really warm welcome to Street on Sunday and are looking forward to collaborating again with the parish council and local partners in the near future,” she added.

“Next Sunday we are in Glastonbury - just next to the Abbey, on July 25 on Wells Cathedral Green and on Sunday, August 8 in the sparkling new Market Place in Shepton Mallet.”
