SOMERSET couples have the highest marriage success rate in the UK, according to new research.

The study by Flowercard found that married couples living in Somerset were most likely to stay together, with a success rate of 93.88 per cent.

To put this into perspective, the UK as a whole has a marriage success rate of 59.09 per cent.

After Somerset, the other top five counties for married couples staying together were Surrey (92.98 per cent success rate), Lincolnshire (92.47 per cent), Buckinghamshire (91.97 per cent) and Northamptonshire (91.68 per cent),

The study analysed government data to discover the number of divorces which were finalised between 2011 and 2020, to reveal which parts of the UK have the highest marriage success rate.
