FIRE engines were called to a flat after reports of smoke and a fire alarm being sounded.
Two crews from Bridgwater and Nether Stowey attended the incident on Southbrook, Cannington near Bridgwater.
The fire broke out around 11am today (May 28).
"Fire appliances from Bridgwater and Nether Stowey were mobilised to a report of a smell of smoke and a fire alarm," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue.
"The incident involved a small fire in the kitchen of a ground floor flat which was contained to the cooker."
