AN out-of-control bonfire was thought to have spread to a garden shed which caught fire last night (May 27).

Two fire engines from Nether Stowey and Bridgwater attended the incident on Bridgwater High Street.

The shed caught fire around 7.30pm.

"On arrival, the incident commander confirmed one garden shed was well alight and quickly got crews to work to extinguish the fire using a hose reel jet, drag forks and a thermal imaging camera," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue.

"The fire was thought to have started from a bonfire that became out of control, which spread to the shed, completely destroying it."
