POLICE in Avon and Somerset are warning motorists they could still be prosecuted - even if their poor driving isn't witnessed first hand by officers.
The force's roads policing unit says officers will consider taking action against people performing "poor or dangerous driving" who are filmed on other drivers' dashcams.
A social media post from the unit says: "Have you witnessed poor or dangerous driving and have dashcam fitted in your vehicle?
"Did you know that you can report it to us and we will take action?"
From the start of January to the end of March this year, Avon and Somerset Police received 543 reports from the public about other motorists' driving.
Those reports led to 650 Notices of Intended Prosecution and/or warning letters, which equates to an average of more than seven a day.
