A NEW hotel has opened its doors in Bridgwater.

ibis Bridgwater, run by hospitality group Accor, is initially open for restricted use by key workers and those on essential travel, ahead of a full opening in May.

The hotel is the UK's first full PLAZA design concept, boasting a new contemporary and urban interior design.

It is also the first ibis in the UK to feature a Keepers Kitchen & Bar.

This is an all-day restaurant and bar, offering British and international classics across its locally-sourced menus, plus a selection of Keeper's specials with signature house honey.

It pitches itself as a "truly vibrant space, creating flexible social and working hubs that are welcoming living spaces for people to meet, work and play".

The hotel has a mix of 144 double, twin and interconnecting rooms, all of which feature a Sweet Bed™, a bed unique to ibis which offers guests a restorative night’s sleep.

Situated just one minute from Junction 23 of the M5, ibis Bridgwater also has on-site parking, modern meeting rooms and smart TVs in every room.

DINING OPTION: Keepers Kitchen & Bar

Jonathan Bowen, general manager of ibis Bridgwater, said: “We are pleased to open our doors as part of the global ibis brand family, and to be bringing the number one economy brand in Europe to Somerset.

"As travel restrictions ease, we look forward to welcoming guests and to capitalise on our great location at the gateway to the South West of England.

"While lockdown restrictions remain in place, we stand open to accommodate key workers and those with essential travel needs in line with government legislation.

“We are also delighted to be introducing a fresh new dining option to the area through our Keepers Kitchen & Bar, and to be able to champion the region’s incredible local food and drink across our menus.”
