A HOUSE fire this morning (Wednesday) was caused by workers soldering.

Fire crews were called to reports of a fire inside a property in Pathfinder Terrace, Colley Lane, Bridgwater, shortly before 11am.

The fire was located on the first floor of the building and involved cladding on the wall.

Two firefighters in breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a safety jet were used to put out the fire.

Crews also isolated power to the property.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The fire involved a bedroom in an end of terraced domestic property caused by workmen soldering."

The bedroom was 10 per cent fire damaged and the first floor was 10 per cent smoke damaged.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
