THIS is the scene that greeted motorists travelling north up the M5 yesterday lunchtime (Sunday).
The car burst into flames at Junction 14 for Thornbury at around 1pm.
The motorway was closed for a period as firefighters put out the blaze.
Later lane three was opened to allow traffic to move, with drivers asked to proceed with caution.
The M5 was re-opened after the vehicle was removed.
