NEW rules allowing people to meet up outside with ONE other person come into effect from tomorrow (Monday).

The first raft of the easing of the Covid restrictions will also enable one regular visitor to see a resident in a care home.

The changes come the same day that primary and secondary schools return, with students undertaking face-to-face learning for the first time this year.

Included in the changes are people being permitted to meet up with one other person from outside their household for exercise or recreation.

That could include meeting in a park for a picnic or get together with ONE friend.

It will still be illegal to mix socially indoors.

But from March 29, people will be able to meet up with up to six people from outside their own household.

The regular care home visits will see ONE person allowed to regularly visit a resident.
