Fire crews were sent to the incident in Northbrook Road at 3.49pm.
A fire engine from Street attended.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "On arrival crews confirmed a fire in the flue of a wood burning stove and got to work setting up chimney gear and using a thermal imaging camera working from the hearth.
"Crews requested the attendance of an aerial ladder platform which proceeded from Yeovil.
"The fire was extinguished using chimney equipment and using the aerial ladder platform to work from the roof."
