A VICAR has made a heartfelt plea to youths who lit a fire in his church porch not to abuse the hospitality offered by the place of worship.
There have been instances of anti-social behaviour recently at St Mary's Church, in East Brent, and events escalated with the fire being lit.
PCSO Steve Hemmett has said he will be patrolling the church area to check up on the youths.
And the vicar, the Rev Kevin Wright, has posted a note to people who use the porch.
In it he says: "Hello.
"We're very happy for you to shelter in this porch, but please don't case any damage.
"Please take any litter away with you.
"It would be sad if we had to lock the gates.
"If you wnt to ask me any questions or just have a chat, my name and number are below.
"We hope you find God's peace here."
