SOMERSET recorded its lowest number of positive Covid tests in a day for some time in the latest 24-hour period
There were 54 new confirmed cases in the county council area.
And Mendip saw just three positive tests.
There were 20 in South Somerset, 15 in Somerset West and Taunton and 16 in Sedgemoor.
The overall totals in each district since the start of the pandemic now stand at 4,723 in South Somerset; 5,502 in Somerset West and Taunton; 4,684 in Sedgemoor; and 3,069 in Mendip.
Somerset has seen a total of 17,978 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.
The latest rates of infection based on the rolling seven-day figures are 116.4 per 100,000 people in South Somerset, (down from the previous day's 138.4); 178.6 in SWT (down from 194); 165.6 in Sedgemoor (up slightly from 164); and 102.1 in Mendip (down from 117.7).
