THERE were 186 positive Covid-19 tests in Somerset in the latest 24-hour period.
Of those, there were 63 new confirmed cases of the virus in South Somerset, which has now seen a total of 4,583 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.
Somerset West and Taunton had 55 new confirmed cases, taking its overall total to 5,317.
There were 40 positive tests in Sedgemoor, for an overall total of 4,503.
And Mendip had 28 positive tests for an overall 2,988.
The county council area has now seen 17,391 positive tests since the start of the pandemic.
The infection rate in each district calculated on the latest seven-day rolling figures is 167.5 in South Somerset (down from 174.6 the previous day); 247.6 in SWT (up from 237.9); 187.5 in Sedgemoor (no change); and 154 in Mendip (down from 160.9).
