THE Covid-19 infection rate has dropped in all four Somerset districts in the latest Government figures.
The latest 24-hour period saw 92 positive tests for the virus in the county council area, evidence of a growing downward trend.
There were 26 new confirmed cases in South Somerset; 31 in Somerset West and Taunton; 25 in Sedgemoor; and 10 in Mendip.
The overall number of confirmed cases in Somerset since the start of the pandemic has risen to 17,105.
Of those, 4,502 have been in South Somerset; 5,223 in Somerset West and Taunton; 4,441 in Sedgemoor; and 2,939 in Mendip.
The latest infection rate figures based on the most recent seven-day rolling figures show a rate of 177.6 per 100,000 population in South Somerset (down from 189.5); 234.7 in SWT (down from 255.9); 190 in Sedgemoor (down from 190.8); and 170.4 in Mendip (down from 178.2).
