DESPITE well over 200 positive Covid-19 tests in Somerset in the latest daily figures, there is a semblance of hope as the rate of infection dipped in all four districts, albeit it only marginally.
The new confirmed coronavirus cases in each district in 24 hours were 69 in South Somerset (which has now seen 3,965 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic); 83 in Somerset West and Taunton (4,539 overall); 39 in Sedgemoor (3,998 overall); and 48 in Mendip (2,590 overall).
The total number of positive tests in the county in 24 hours was 239.
The latest rates of infection per 100,000 people based on the seven-day rolling totals are 245.9 in South Somerset (down from 248.9 the previous day); 406.2 in SWT (down from 407.4); 306.9 in Sedgemoor (down from 320.7); and 270 in Mendip (down from 277.7).
