WORKS are set to get underway on the Northgate Cinema and Leisure site in central Bridgwater to clear away vegetation ahead of its construction.
Sedgemoor District Council’s Clean Surroundings team will begin to remove vegetation on the Mount Street car park part of the site before nesting season begins.
The work will be done in stages to fit in with the team’s other commitments.
Construction work is due to start on the site in April.
A spokesperson for Sedgemoor District Council, said: "At Full Council on February 22, members will hear and debate the results of the recent consultation on proposals for the Brewery Field.
"Sedgemoor’s on-going commitment to the Northgate development is part of the council’s strategy both for helping deliver the post-Covid recovery of the town centre and wider district, as well as setting the cornerstone for long-term success and sustainability."
