POLICE say they have issued fines to two mountain bikers for breaching the Covid regulations at the weekend.
They riders were stopped by police after being visiting the Quantock Hills, a beauty spot popular with bikers, joggers and walkers.
But officers from Avon and Somerset Police's rural affairs unit slapped the penalty on them for not adhering to the current restrictions limiting travel and mixing with other people.
A spokesperson took to Twitter to say: "Two mountain bike riders who visited the Quantock hills have received tickets for breaching the Covid rules this weekend.
"Police visiting rural areas keeping them safe. Follow the Gov guideline. #StayHomeSaveLives."
