THE total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Somerset since the start of the pandemic has now surged past 14,000.
The latest daily figures saw 200 positive tests for the virus in the county council area.
The highest daily total was in Somerset West and Taunton, where there were 60 new confirmed cases, taking the overall total in the district since the start of the pandemic to 4,224.
There were 48 new confirmed cases in South Somerset, where the overall total is now 3,694; 46 in Sedgemoor, taking the overall total there to 3,806; and 46 also in Mendip, where the overall total has reached 2,393.
The overall total for the county is now 14,117.
The latest seven-day rolling infection rates in the districts have gone down in three of the districts and remained the same in the other.
The rates per 100,000 of population now stand at 240 in South Somerset (down from 261.4); 359 in SWT (down from 361); 2552. in Mendip (down from 260.4).
The rate in Sedgemoor has remained unmoved on 341.8.
