A CYCLIST was left with a broken wrist and knee cap after a collision with a car.

The incident, which happened near Tees Barrage, Stockton, last night, involved two cyclists and a white car.

It happened at about 6.40pm, on an unnamed road which leads from Tees Barrage Way to the Premier Inn/Talpore Public House at Tees Barrage.

The collision involved a white car and two cyclists.

One of the cyclists, a 40-year-old male, suffered a broken wrist and knee cap, requiring hospital treatment at the University Hospital of North Tees.

The driver did stop at the scene and spoke to the cyclists, however, their details were not obtained at the scene.

Police are appealing for the driver and any witnesses who have not yet already contacted police to call PC Jayson Morris from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on 101, quoting incident number 194947.
