AN EXHIBITION focussed on lockdown in Somerset has launched online.

Reaching for Rainbows: The Lockdown Photography of Jason Bryant was set to be shown at the Museum of Somerset this month, but due to the second lockdown, this hasn’t been possible.

Instead, viewers can take a look at the exhibition online thanks to the South West Heritage Trust.

“We were due to open the exhibition at the Museum of Somerset in November,” said Sam Astill, head of museums for the South West Heritage Trust .

“Lockdown 2.0 means that hasn’t been possible, so we are inviting people to view the exhibition online.

“The Museum was able to reopen over the summer and we’d like to express our thanks to everyone who visited and supported us in these challenging times.”

The collection of 60 images chronicles the experiences of individuals and communities as they respond to the challenge of Covid-19 and being in Lockdown.

Photographs include rainbows, people expressing their thanks to key workers, families re-uniting and rediscovering their local environment, and the new normal of face masks and hand sanitiser.

The South West Heritage Trust is also creating a community archive to record the stories of local people and places.

They are looking for contributions that cover a range of topics, from key workers to community.

Contributions to the community archive can be submitted using a form on the Trust’s website.
