A BRIDGWATER business has won a prestigious award despite challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Hippychick, a nursery goods business based in Bridgwater, is on a winning streak, has won the hotly-contested Progressive Preschool ‘Best Distributor Award’.

The Progressive Pre School Awards are voted for by the nursery retailers themselves and Hippychick received their award at a virtual ceremony on Sunday (November 15).

The firm is becoming increasingly well known by consumers but behind the scenes Hippychick distributes many of its products to independent nursery retailers across the country.

Julia and Jeremy Minchin, joint managing directors of Hippychick who attended the virtual ceremony on Sunday said: ‘It’s been a challenging year for us, as well as for our competitors, on every level.

"It’s really reassuring to know that we’re still doing a good job for our customers, despite all the issues we have had to face in this unprecedented year, including working with a skeleton staff of just four during the first lockdown and issues with stock coming into the country.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the retailers who voted for us.

"Our staff have been amazing throughout this year and the award is a true testament to their absolute dedication and unceasing commitment to the business. We feel very privileged to have such an outstanding team."
