RESIDENTS in north Shropshire and surrounding areas are being warned to expect heavy rain after the Met Office expanded its yellow weather warning for Thursday.
While the official weather warning has not yet encompassed the area, towns such as Llanfyllin and its surrounding villages are being warned to expect heavy rain plus potential floods and disruption.
The warning is also very close to Oswestry, with rains expected to be heavy there.
Residents south of Whitchurch and Wem will also be threatened by heavy rain.
The Met Office has also extended the warning to Saturday and Sunday as much of West Wales will be battered by rains and high winds, with warnings of flooding, heavy spray on roads and potential disruption to public transport.
