TWO men have been arrested after police received reports of a gun being seen in Bridgwater.
Armed police and a police helicopter were called to Kendale Road at 2am on Saturday (October 10) after a member of the public reported seeing a possible firearm in the town.
Officers searched the area and two men, both in their 30s, were arrested but no firearm was found.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police, said: “We received a phone call shortly before 2am yesterday (Saturday, October 10) from a member of the public reporting seeing a man with a firearm in the Kendale Road area of Bridgwater.
“Officers attended and with assistance from the police helicopter a search was conducted.
“Two men, both in their 30s, were arrested and have subsequently been released under investigation. No firearm has been found.
“Enquiries are continuing.”
