TWO men have been reported for summons after two vehicles were stopped following reports they were racing on the M5 and causing other vehicles to swerve to avoid a crash.

At around 10.15pm on Saturday (September 26) police received reports that two vehicles were racing on the M5 between junctions 25 and 26.

Officers went to the scene and stopped a car a short while later on Puriton Hill and two men were reported for racing on a highway and driving without due care.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police, said: "Two men, aged 24 and 21, have been reported for summons following an incident on the M5 between junctions 25 & 26 at about 10.15pm on Saturday, September 26.

"We received reports that two vehicles were racing, causing other vehicles to swerve to avoid a collision.

"Officers attended and stopped two cars on the A39 at Puriton Hill a short time later.

"The men have been reported for racing on a highway and driving without due care and attention.
