TWO people staying at EDF's Sedgemoor Campus in Bridgwater are self-isolating after testing positive for coronavirus.
Although the campus was primarily built for Hinkley C workers, neither of the people affected has worked at the construction site itself.
A spokesman for EDF said: "One individual staying at the Campus tested positive for coronavirus as part of their induction before being allowed to work at Hinkley Point C.
"Our testing process worked as planned to prevent entry onto site.
"The Campus has taken in a number of people from the local community to help provide accommodation in the ongoing situation. The second person is staying at the Campus as part of that scheme."
EDF said that the safety of the local community and its workforce was the primary concern.
The spokesman added: "We are further strengthening our current control measures as well as taking additional steps, such as the increased use of face coverings in shared areas and segregating non-worker residents from the construction workforce.
"We will continue to review our processes and follow government guidance.
"We have used our track and trace procedures to ensure that contacts of these two people are told to self-isolate in line with government requirements."
