A WOMAN who went missing with her two-year-old son after flying to Spain has been contact with the Spanish authorities, police have confirmed.
Avon and Somerset Police launched an appeal to find Zivile Jokubonyte, a Lithuanian national living in Bridgwater and her son Saliamonas after they grew concerned for her welfare.
The 29-year-old and her two-year-old son caught a flight from Bristol Airport to Valencia in Spain on Monday, August 31 but police grew concerned as her travel was unexpected and she abandoned her plans including a job interview.
But a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said Zivile has now been in contact with Spanish authorities.
"Police are pleased to confirm that Spanish authorities have been in contact with Zivile Jokubonyte, 29, reported missing from Bridgwater along with her two-year-old son.," an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said.
"Officers want to thank everyone who got in touch with information or shared the appeal to trace her."
