MORE grants are now available for businesses in the tourism sector to help them recover from the effects of Covid-19.

In August the Government announced it was giving out £20m of grant funding in the form of a Kickstart Grant.

The funding from the England European Regional Development Fund was allocated to allow small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) to claim sums between £1,000 and £5,000 to help them to recover from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

After the first round of applications earlier this month Sedgemoor District Council said there is a further Kickstart Grant Scheme for businesses operating in the tourism sector.

The Kickstart Grant Scheme will reopen for tourism sector businesses only on Monday, September 21 at midday and will close on Tuesday, September 22 at 6pm.

A spokesperson for Sedgemoor District Council, said: "Grants will be awarded to eligible applicants who meet the sector criteria on a first come, first served basis according to the date and time of submission.

"Businesses can apply via the online application form or by completing the PDF application form which will be available on the Kickstart Grants page on the Growth Hub website. All completed PDF applications must be emailed directly to the Kickstart Grants Team at Support.bsi@devon.gov.uk

"If applicants have any questions prior to the September 21, they should refer to the Information and Guidance sheet and the FAQ available online or email Support.bsi@devon.gov.uk."
