A COW which was stuck in mud and up to its head in water was rescued by firefighters.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called at 5.29pm today (September 14) to an animal rescue in Wagg Drove, Langport.
One fire engine from Somerton and the special rescue team from Bridgwater went to the scene.
The cow was stuck in mud and up to its head in water.
Crews cut away vegetation to gain access to the cow and to maintain control of its head to keep it from drowning.
Firefighters used water safety equipment and animal rescue equipment to extricate the cow and led it to safety.
