A POPULAR Somerset Christmas event has been called off.
Glastonbury’s Frost Fayre was set to take place on Sunday, November 28, but has been cancelled amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Last years’ event attracted more than 200 stall holders and had five live stages of entertainment.
Gerard Tucker, the town clerk, said: “The safety of all involved is of paramount importance and unless we can safely put in place measures to appropriately reduce the risk of spreading the virus, we have to do the right thing and postpone this year’s event.”
Shoppers will still have the chance to find Christmas gifts in Glastonbury with the help of an app that is being developed by Glastonbury Town Council and Mendip District Council.
