FIREFIGHTERS in Oswestry were called out to tackle a bin fire in St Martins on Thursday night.
One crew from the town was sent to St Martins Church, in Church Lane, shortly after 8.30pm, after reports of a bin on fire.
The firefighters used a hosereel jet and a thermal imaging camera to put out the fire, spending more than 20 minutes at the scene.
Meanwhile, Ellesmere firefighters were also called out on Thursday evening after there were reports of a cow stuck in the canal.
When one Ellesmere crew arrived at the scene – at Bridge 59 in Birch Road – around 8.30pm, the cow had already made its way out of the water and to safety.
Firefighters left around 15 minutes later.
