A 32-TONNE dumper truck was destroyed by fire yesterday (July 30).
Fire crews were called to the incident, in Somertonfield Road, Somerton, at just before 11.30am.
Firefighters from Somerton, Mattock, Street and the water bowser from Yeovil attended.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Once the crew got in attendance the officer in charge confirmed one dumper truck to be well alight.
"The crew got to work to extinguish the fire with the use of four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one main jet, thermal imaging camera and ladders."
The truck was 80% destroyed by fire, they said, and the cause is believed to be accidental.
